Adam H. JohnsonAttorney
Adam H. Johnson is an Associate Attorney at Nahon, Saharovich & Trotz, where he practices civil litigation in the area of personal injury. Examples of cases Mr. Johnson has handled include car accidents, trucking accidents, motorcycle accidents, workers’ compensation, premises liability, and Jones Act matters (a federal law that protects workers injured at sea). More specifically, he litigates cases on behalf of clients in disputes with insurance companies. In each case, he helps clients understand and navigate through the litigation process, which includes answering written discovery, taking depositions of the parties, witnesses, and experts, and preparing the case for trial if a resolution has not been reached. Over the years, Mr. Johnson has successfully tried cases in various counties across West Tennessee.
Raised in Chicago, Mr. Johnson moved to Memphis in 1992 and has adopted it as his second home. He earned his Bachelor of Arts from UCLA in 2003, summa cum laude, and his Juris Doctor degree from the University of Memphis, Cecil C. Humphreys School of Law in 2008. While in law school, he served as a judicial extern for the Honorable Bernice B. Donald, then of the United States District Court for the Western District of Tennessee, and as a member of both the University of Memphis Law Review and the University of Memphis Moot Court Board. Mr. Johnson and his partner won the University of Memphis Advanced Moot Court Competition in 2006, and he also received the CALI Excellence for the Future Award for Civil Rights in 2007.
Additionally, he is a graduate of the Memphis Bar Association (MBA) Leadership Forum Class of 2012-2013. An active member in the MBA Young Lawyers Division (YLD), he was elected to the YLD Board of Governors in the fall of 2013 and has served as Secretary/Treasurer in 2015, Vice President in 2016, and is excited to serve as President in 2017. Mr. Johnson has been named an “Attorney for Justice” by the Tennessee Supreme Court in recognition of his pro bono service in the community, and he was awarded a Memphis Bar Association Access to Justice Award in 2014. He is a recent graduate of the Tennessee Bar Association Leadership Law Class of 2016. Mr. Johnson is admitted to practice law in Tennessee and Mississippi, and he is an active member of the Tennessee Bar Association, Memphis Bar Association, Tennessee Trial Lawyers Association, and the American Inn of Court, Leo Bearman, Sr. Chapter.
When he’s not representing clients, Mr. Johnson enjoys spending time with friends and family, attending concerts of all types of music, traveling both at home and abroad, attempting to stay in shape, and reading extensively. He is a self-described foodie, who passionately enjoys trying new restaurants around town and new types of food. Mr. Johnson is also an avid moviegoer and is trying to watch every single Academy Award Best Picture Winners in history. He even recently served as an executive producer for a local independent film that premiered in Hollywood in 2016.
