So, if someone gets in an accident while driving your car, typically your insurance will still apply to them if you gave them permission to drive your car. Uh, so ultimately, if they were the cause of the accident, your insurance would still be at play. If somebody sued them, they could potentially also sue you as the owner of the vehicle. There’ll be a number of claims based on you granting them permission to use your vehicle, claims under theories of agency. But, generally speaking, your insurance will still apply.
And so, if the other person was at fault, then the driver, if he doesn’t have any insurance, then if you have uninsured motorist coverage, then that insurance would apply to the driver of your vehicle. Uh, but just, I guess in general terms, the best thing to say is that the insurance will carry over to the other driver.
