NST handles a lot of car accident cases in Jonesboro. The main idea in any representation is to develop a case. So, we have to, number one, find out how this accident occurred. Our goal, our job, is to try to show that the defendant caused our client’s injuries. Sometimes we have to recreate the accident. We have to interview witnesses, we look for video – anything that we can do to show that the defendant caused our client’s accident. This allows our client to recover based on their injuries. Once we have proven the liability, by making sure that the defendant is at fault, we then have to develop the injury portion of our client’s case. What we do is, we monitor their medical treatment, we review their medical bills, their medical reports, and we get a sense of the type of injury they have. For instance, if a client has a life-changing injury, a permanent disability, then we have to showcase that. We are able to then explain to the insurance company or to a jury what our client has gone through. Sometimes, we can get a ‘day in the life’ video which actually shows our client doing just normal everyday activities to show everything that they have suffered as a result of the defendant’s negligence. We put all that together and do our best to try to resolve the case, if at all possible, as long as they’re being fair to our client. But, if the offer is not fair, then we discuss filing a lawsuit and then going to trial. In our office at NST, we try a lot of cases. The idea is that they will have to be fair to our client or we would not recommend that they settle a case.
