Landon M. Hickey is a Blount County native with strong ties to the greater Knoxville area. He graduated from Alcoa High School in 2010 then went on to obtain a Bachelor of Arts in History from the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga in 2014. Mr. Hickey thereafter attended the Lincoln Memorial University – Duncan School of Law in Knoxville, where he graduated and went on to pass the bar in 2018. Mr. Hickey excelled in both his undergraduate and law school studies, all while maintaining full-time jobs and an active social calendar.
While in law school, Mr. Hickey was the recipient of several distinguished academic awards including CALI Excellence for the Future Awards for the best overall class grade in both Legal Research and Legal Communications II and being named to the Dean’s List. Mr. Hickey also exhibited great initiative and work ethic during his law school years by working full time as a law clerk for Banks & Jones, an established, litigation-focused law firm in Knoxville, beginning his 2L year. Following his bar admission in 2018, Mr. Hickey went on to work for Banks & Jones for many years as an attorney with a focus on personal injury and other civil litigation, Social Security disability claims, probate, and estate planning. During this time, Mr. Hickey gained invaluable litigation experience handling a myriad of personal injury matters including automobile accidents, premises liability, products liability, dog bites, and wrongful deaths and developed a passion for assisting those harmed as a result of the negligence or recklessness of others.
Mr. Hickey currently handles personal injury matters at NST and believes strongly in serving those that have been wronged and suffered harm through no fault of their own and is willing to go above and beyond for his clients when necessary to ensure they are fully compensated for their injuries. Sometimes this call to serve clients goes beyond the practice of law as exhibited in this local news segment showcasing a time when a client represented by Mr. Hickey suffered a cardiac event in live court and he used the CPR training he received as a lifeguard in high school to save the client’s life.
Outside of practicing law, Mr. Hickey enjoys getting outdoors and is an avid hiker, skier, and gardener. He is also a skilled woodworker who builds a variety of furniture pieces, cutting boards, boxes, and other custom-made items. In his free time, he additionally enjoys cooking, traveling, photography, guitar, and cheering on the Tennessee Volunteers and Philadelphia Eagles.
