- At least four people have been hurt

(Jackson, MS 5/27/2008) An Amtrak passenger train and a garbage truck collided in Copiah County leaving seven people hurt. The extent of their injuries hasn't been made public.
Mississippi Emergency Management Agency spokeswoman Katherine Crowell says the injured have been taken to the hospital.
Crowell says it's unclear if the injured were on the train or in the truck.
Emergency crews from Copiah and Hinds counties are on the scene along with officials from local fire departments. The accident occurred about 1:30 p.m. between Terry and Hazlehurst, on a rural stretch of track in Copiah County, south of Jackson.
Authorities say the engine of the southbound City of New Orleans train came to rest a few yards from the Mississippi Highway 27 overpass.
A fire broke out after the collision, authorities say, damaging the engine. And the train's final car, which was empty, left the track.
Amtrak spokesman Marc Magliari say the train left Chicago on Monday night and was due in Louisiana this afternoon.
